The lovely Ginger is healing nicely from her spay. Her foster mom says she’s back in the swing of things and acting like her old self after a couple days of taking it easy. Her stitches will be out later this week and therefore she’ll be ready to be adopted! Ginger also is now up to date on all her vaccinations. We’ll have more photos and info about Ginger soon!

Hello,
Is Ginger still available? Is she full Shiba or a mix?
Any news on how she is with cats?
Ruth
Hi Ruth
Yes, Ginger is 100% Shiba. Unfortunately, Ginger would have to be an only child in the home. Are you looking for a Shiba that gets along with cats? If so, send us an Adoption Application (if you haven’t already) so we can match you with the right Shiba when he or she comes along!
Hello if Ginger is still available I would love to meet her. After filling out the adoption process how long would it take before a decision is made?
Hi Joseph,
How long it takes really depends on a lot of things. We are a small group of volunteers who all have full time jobs, families, and dogs of our own. We filter through the applications as fast as we can. If an application looks good, we also do reference checks and a home visit before a potential adopter actually meets any of our foster dogs.
I hope that answers your question. Ginger _is_ still available, so feel free to submit an application if you’re interested in qualifying to adopt from NYCSR.
Thanks,
jenna
