Hi Matt,

It depends on how much dog experience you have had with friends’ dogs or other family members and how much time you’re willing to invest in learning how to be a dog owner and all the responsibility. It can be totally fun and awesome and also sometimes very hard.

It can’t hurt to fill out an application. If you’re interested, we always need foster homes as well.

I know on your home page there is the article about how you don’t recommend Shibas for first time dog owners, but I’m looking for my first dog and I really like the Shibas – do you think an older Shiba like Brando would be appropriate?

If so, please let me know and I’ll go ahead and fill out the app.

i may be interested in adopting. i currently have a shiba, that was unwanted, and a cocker spaniel. I love him, and love going home to him. he’s a great member of our family. although overly alpha at times, usally about food or attention
. i would love for him to have a shiba friend. i’ve fenced my yard and fully understand the bolting habit. i read the “all about shibas” and understand the yearn for another. i’m curios, when my shiba gets aggressive with my other dog, what should i do? i always just grab him and lift him out of the fight, then verbally give him hell..
anyway I like Brando, ginger ,prince, bailey, rusty and paulie.

any info would be appreciated
