Update for Toby

in Toby

Toby is having a ball with his foster family, and he’s doing well. His foster dad, John, told us that Toby’s getting his winter coat in and it looks great but he also is shedding like nuts. It’s that winter weather and heated house syndrome… cats and dogs all shed like it’s their job and it’s insane. But John is taking it in stride and says Toby is the best.

Toby loves to be around people and has become more cuddly. He’s curious and friendly when meeting new people and has shown some interest in meeting dogs but is still unsure of them if they project too much hyper energy. Toby likes to try and chase pigeons and play. When he wants something he’s learned that he can paw at your leg, a door, a toy, his water bowl, etc. to show John that he needs or wants something.

John noticed that Toby doesn’t jump as much at loud noises and seems more relaxed overall. Toby doesn’t really bark much at all now and has started doing the throat-y gurgle noises that some dogs do when they are excited. He also greets John with a gurgle noise and a wagging tail when he comes home. Toby has settled in nicely with John and seems to have really come around. He’s a great dog and we’re hoping he finds his forever home soon!
