Sam has lost a little weight, about 6 lbs from last month and is battling an ear infection but otherwise, he’s doing well. He is a playful guy and has been learning, slowly, to listen better to commands. It’s still a daily struggle – he tends to ignore his fosters or only listen if there’s a treat involved.
Sam’s foster family have been working with him everyday with commands and he is getting better, but he’s a stubborn little dog and sometimes gives them a hard time. He hardly barks, is quiet, and really just a fun dog. He’s more interested in tennis balls than sitting, staying, laying down, etc. They still think he’s the greatest dog and describe him as cute and loving.

i have Dakota, he’s around 2 years old. he sounds like sam. we call him king shiba. we live in his world of tennis balls, although lacrosse balls hold up much better. he listens to no commands, but we exist nicely. when we yelled at him, he didn’t listen, but the nicer the voice we use, the better reaction we get. we love Dakota,
I’m happy to hear you have an adoption pending on Sam. I have been interested in him & contacted the NYC Shiba Rescue. If this adoption doesn’t work out, please let me know.
