Ginge’s ear infection seems to have completely cleared up. Brando’s allergic itchy spots are getting better. Some of his fur is growing in and the dark, leathery texture that he had is slowly going away from where he often licked and scratched his skin. DJ has been staying with Molly but will soon be moved to a new foster mom to see how he adapts to new environments and also to continue his training and behavior modification. Buddy has been shedding quite a bit these last few weeks and his foster mom, Jenn, believes she could have made a whole new dog out of the fur she brushed off him. Brutus’ foster family sent us a few pics of him having a lot of fun at a dog meetup recently. It was great- his foster mom was in shiba heaven! Brutus ran with the other shibas for awhile. He got tired out after an hour of running around.

Bella’s allergies continue to be an issue. At the vet’s suggestion, we have now changed her diet to only poultry and eliminated treats and non-poultry wet food to try to isolate the cause. Niccolo’s foster family gave us an update on how he’s doing. So far, Niccolo has been adjusting and likes his foster home a lot. He’s a healthy weight and his fur is improving. They gave him a bath and his coat looks much better now.

Pixie is doing very well with her foster family. She’s about 20lbs and her coat is looking great. Pixie is shiny and soft according to her foster dad, Ray.

Jordan is doing very well in his foster home and holding steady at 27 lbs. The vet said that Jordan is in good health, except for his hind legs. Both Jordan’s knees are calcified, which means that he walks a little stiff-legged. But since Jordan doesn’t complain, the vet didn’t think there was any pain [continue reading...]
