Introducing Kato

in Kato

Kato is a 1yr old male, red and white shiba. He was picked up by the Brooklyn Animal Care and Control facility as a stray. When they found him he had a wound on his front paw and may have also dislocated his ankle at some point.

The vet looked at an X-Ray and says his ankle looks good now and his paw is healing up. He’s currently being fostered by Matt. Matt told us that Kato loves to play and has unlimited energy. He learned fetch and will play all day long. Kato doesn’t seem to be housebroken and doesn’t know how to walk properly on a leash. Matt has begun training with Kato to learn these two very important lessons.

Matt took Kato to his local dog park and Kato got along with the other dogs but seemed more interested in toys than playing chase with dogs. He’s calm around other dogs and interested but not overly zealous to make a friend. Matt has also started crate-training and told us that so far it’s going well. Kato will whimper a little but settles down quickly.

Keep checking back!

We love Kato — he is adjusting well. He is extremely sharp and sensitive, playful and a cool dog. He has won our hearts too. He needs some more training but is great.

His right paw is ok. But few patches are still missing. He does not seem to have hip problem. He runs easily and very fast if he wants it.
