New York, NY – September 15, 2009 – NYC Shiba Rescue, Inc. (NYCSR), a volunteer group dedicated to the rescue of Shiba Inu breed dogs in the NY metropolitan area, today announced the adoption of our little furball of energy with the non stop tail, Miyuki, on September 13th. One of the happiest, fun loving shibas we’ve had the pleasure of rescuing for some time, Miyuki has found a permanent home with her new family which includes two young children that will help drain some of that excess energy she always seems to have in reserve.
Miyuki, also known as Yuki for short, was surrendered into the NYCSR Foster Program just one month ago after being found in a local animal shelter in Long Island. Initially taken into the shelter as a stray, it very quickly became apparent that Yuki did have a home at some point in her life, based on her amazingly sweet temperament with everyone she met. Within minutes of meeting our evaluator at the shelter, Yuki was on her back, presenting her stomach for a belly rub.
At a very young three years old, Yuki had a blast during her time in the foster program playing with her three foster shiba brothers and sisters. She seems to have limitless energy, prefering to spend her days zooming around in the backyard or playing with a squeaky toy.
“Yuki is so sweet, and absolutely loves getting attention. If you just look in her direction she starts to wag her tail,” said Yuki’s foster mom, Michele. “She is just super affectionate and has tons of love to give.”
Yuki is the 67th dog that NYCSR has adopted out since the rescue was founded in April 2007.
