My Shiba also seems to have hearing loss, but sometimes I wonder if he is just ignoring me! He too can be aloof, but if I go to bed w/o him (I say "let's go to bed") he will act as if he can't hear me, but the minute I close the door to the room, hop into bed and get comfortable, he starts hollering for me to come and get him and let him in.
