Introducing Bibi, aka “BiBoo”!

If you’re looking for a cream Shiba who lives for a romp in the park and entertains herself with her toys like a champ, then you need to meet Bibi.

She’s 15 months old and is an owner-surrender to NYSCR. Bibi relates best to her fellow canine brothers and sisters, but can be shy with people, especially men and children. However, with the right coaching and consistent approach, Bibi should learn to be more comfortable around all people. She is most nervous when new people enter her home, and will need some work on adjusting to visitors. Bibi is housebroken and knows several commands, such as sit, stay, come, and leave it.

Bibi enjoys fetch, chewing on her bone, and thinks a romp in the snow is just about the best way to spend a day outdoors. She lives for visits to the dog park and is very well-behaved when there.

Like most Shibas, grooming is not her favorite thing but Bibi will allow bathing and her nails to be clipped. She is also good at the vet, but again, shy. She has been spayed and is up-to-date on her shots and has no known allergies or health conditions.

Are you the right person to teach Bibi to trust new faces and experiences? If you’re the steady, calm hand to guide her into a long life of wonderful companionship, then we’d like to hear from you. Stay tuned for more updates on Bibi!

    Good Afternoon,
I finally faxed the adoption application earlier today! I didn’t realize that they were looked at in chronological order so I really wasted a bunch of time. I just want to reinterate that my husband and I are extremely interested in Bibi as well as Remi. I hope the fact that we both have full time jobs will be a negative as far as adoptive parents go – but – be assured – when we are home our dog will get our undivided attention. We will also make his/her transition a gradual process because we plan to start with shorter periods of the dog being alone and extending the time little by little. We truly are very good parents.

    Thank you for listening.
    Toni Rego

    Dear Jenna,

Of course I meant to say that I hope the fact that my husband and I both work will NOT be a negative. We really worked it out very well with our first Shiba, BJ. He was so absolutely wonderful!
