Introducing Mariko

Mariko is a 9 year old, spayed female Shiba Inu. She was surrendered to a shelter by her owner who said they could not care for her. She came to us on Valentine’s Day and is up to date on her vaccines.

Mariko came from a multi-dog home but she was the only Shiba. All the other dogs were larger, both male and female. Mariko has been tested for several traits and did very well. She does not show much interest in cats or chasing toys. She is crate trained, good on leash and has some knowledge of basic commands. At a near perfect weight of 17 pounds, this sweet girl is just the right size.

Since she’s only been with her foster family for a week, we’re still learning about her personality but from what we can tell so far she’s a sweet, older shiba who would love to find her forever home and a soft comfy doggy bed to call her own.

  3. Mariko now has an adoption pending.

If you are interested in adopting one of our other available Shiba Inus, please complete an adoption application and fax it to us (212-658-9657). An application MUST be completed before any home can be considered. Applications are processed in chronological order. After your application is approved, we will work to match you with the right Shiba!

  4. Katia Facchetti says:

    Hi Jenna,
For future reference, do I need to complete a new application as mine was already processed in January?
    Let me know. Thank you!

    • Once you have submitted an application, there is no need to submit another one. We work to match potential adopters with the right dog for them, regardless of when the application is submitted and processed.
