June Update for Remi

Remi is growing up! He’ll be 1 yr old in July and has been having so much fun in his foster home. Since his birthday is coming around, this means he’ll be going for a follow up appt to see how his hole in his heart is and what sort of course of treatment he may need for the rest of his life. Remi doesn’t seem to know he has health issues and jumps, plays, and runs around like a typical puppy. He also tries to dominate other dogs but he’s learning his place in the pack.

He a little mouthy but he’s learning it’s not acceptable to nip, mouth, or tug on people and he’s a smart little guy so we expect he’ll figure this out quickly. Jenn told us Remi is a big boy and she thinks he’ll be tall and maybe weigh about 40 lbs when he’s fully grown! He’s a social butterfly and gets along with the dogs in the house, dogs he meets on the street, and people and children. Remi has also learned basic commands and sits, stays, walks nicely on a leash, and comes when he’s called. He still jumps on people and is also a shoe thief.

Remi is now eating adult dog food and doesn’t need his water limited since he’s on medication for his diabetes. Overall, he’s a happy guy who is having a great spring with his foster family!
