NYC Shiba Rescue (NYCSR) is an all volunteer group dedicated to contributing to the quality of life of Shiba Inus in and around the New York City metropolitan area (NY, NJ, PA, and CT primarily). To that end, NYCSR actively works to rescue Shiba Inus and Shiba Inu mixed breed dogs from dangerous environments and shelters in order to find them loving, permanent homes. We will, among other things, foster and evaluate Shiba Inus in order to prepare them for adoption and seek out proper adoptive homes for the dogs. NYCSR also promotes responsible dog ownership by educating the public in the selection, care and training of dogs.

Introducing Posie
by kathy on February 13, 2013
in Posie
Posie is our newest NYCSR foster dog and we are very happy to have her. She is about 8 years old – BLIND – and was found on streets in Philadelphia and taken to the shelter. We don’t know her history and she isn’t going to tell us just yet but, wow, is she a sweetheart. Her fosters have told us she’s incredibly sweet, loving, and seems to have been a family dog prior to being a stray.
Posie may need a lot of extra TLC in the upcoming weeks as we make sure she’s eating well, gaining weight, and healthy overall. If you can, please help us help her by donating to NYCSR.
As we learn more about her, we will keep all you readers posted so keep checking back!

Posie, you sweet dear girl. We just adopted a 15 year old blind/deaf girl and she is an absolute doll. I so hope you will find a family that will love and cherish you.
Karen,
Thank you very much for your kind words. Posie does deserve a loving, caring home and we’ll work very hard to find her one.
