Suki Suki is a 4 yr. old spayed female tan shiba mix. She came to Elmsford as a stray and was adopted to a family but it wasn’t the right fit. Now she’s looking for a forever home. She’s up-to-date with vaccines and healthy. Suki walks well on a leash and is housebroken. She likes to play games such as fetch, loves stuffed animals, and can be extremely sweet and affectionate once she gets to know you. Suki will sit on your lap, nudge your hand with her nose trying to flip it onto her head to be petted. She also gets along with other dogs. Since little is known of her past, it’s uncertain if she was abused or had harsh experiences with men, she prefers women and is very wary of men. It may take a very gentle male to break her of her fear. It would be best if a dog-experienced family adopted her and knew how to work with fear aggression and low confidence in dogs or was very willing to dedicate the time needed to bring out the best in Suki. Once she’s comfortable she’s adorable. She’s a very smart dog and knows commands such as sit, down, no, and come.
Oscar Oscar is a 6 1/2 yr. old neutered red shiba mix. He’s a little nervous around strangers and new surroundings. The shelter environment is very stressful to him and he needs a new home. Oscar walks well on leash, enjoys car rides, games of fetch and chase, and is completely housebroken. He was turned in due to his nervous nature, he had bit an adult after being startled. It is best that he go home to a calm, adult-only environment with no other animals. He is a good dog and will warm up to someone after knowing them a little bit. Frye Frye is small black and tan shiba about 20 lbs and 3 years old. Frye is very sweet and laid back and loves people. He is still looking for a family that will love him just as much.
Jersey Meet Jersey. This sweet little girl is about a year old and 19 lbs. Jersey knows basic commands. Jersey would do best as an only pet. Jersey has been spayed, is heart worm negative and up to date on all her shots and heart worm preventative.

Copper Copper is currently living in NYC and looking for a new home. He is 7 yrs. old, up to date on vaccines, and house-trained. He has many shiba traits and needs a strong owner who is experienced and understands that shibas need consistency, discipline, and routines. Copper needs positive reinforcement but also an assertive owner so he learns his boundaries. He can be possessive of his owner but has also proven to be a good watch dog. He should not be in a house with small animals or children due to his challenging demeanor. He’s active and loves to go on long walks, play in a yard, and likes other dogs he’s met. Mamie I was born in 2004 and I am spayed, current on vaccinations, and have a microchip ID. I am on heartworm and flea preventative. I am house broken and crate trained. I like to play with other dogs and am a friendly gal. I sit obediently to get my leash on, because I love to go for walks. I like chasing things that fly, bounce, and or squeak. Hercules Hercules is a very handsome boy! He is a mixed Shiba Inu who is young, possibly 1 to 5 yrs old. Hercules was returned to the shelter because his owner moved and couldn’t him with her. Poor Hercules does not understand why he’s stuck at the shelter looking for a new forever home and would like to find a home as soon as he can! Hercules’ previous owner said that he gets along with dogs, cats, and kids. Hercules also lives indoors and is housebroken too! Hercules is a happy boy who is ready to share his great attitude and love with someone else. He is very friendly and would like to find someone who will take him out for walks and to play too!
