Suki Suki is a 4 yr. old spayed female tan shaiba mix. She came to Elmsford as a stray and was adopted to a family but it wasn’t the right fit. Now she’s looking for a forever home. She’s up-to-date with vaccines and healthy. Suki walks well on a leash and is housebroken. She likes to play games such as fetch, loves stuffed animals, and can be extremely sweet and affectionate once she gets to know you. Suki will sit on your lap, nudge your hand with her nose trying to flip it onto her head to be petted. She also gets along with other dogs. Since little is known of her past, it’s uncertain if she was abused or had harsh experiences with men, she prefers women and is very wary of men. It may take a very gentle male to break her of her fear. It would be best if a dog-experienced family adopted her and knew how to work with fear aggression and low confidence in dogs or was very willing to dedicate the time needed to bring out the best in Suki. Once she’s comfortable she’s adorable. She’s a very smart dog and knows commands such as sit, down, no, and come.
Oscar Oscar is a 6 1/2 yr. old neutered red shiba mix. He’s a little nervous around strangers and new surroundings. The shelter environment is very stressful to him and he needs a new home. Oscar walks well on leash, enjoys car rides, games of fetch and chase, and is completely housebroken. He was turned in due to his nervous nature, he had bit an adult after being startled. It is best that he go home to a calm, adult-only environment with no other animals. He is a good dog and will warm up to someone after knowing them a little bit. Oscar knows commands such as sit, come, and no.
