Rusty has become more and more affectionate with his foster family. He is much more playful all around and will come up onto the bed when invited to cuddle. Kato is doing really well. There has been no change in his weight and his coat has improved.
Kato’s foster family report that Kato is fun, curious and sweet.

Sketch has been doing very well in my home. He hasn’t gained or lost any weight and his coat continues to be quite soft. The vet recommends he have an EKG to see what extent his heart murmur is. The last vet we took him to said the ulcer in his eye didn’t appear to [continue reading...]

Lucy is doing very well. There has been no sign of her cancer returning. She continues to take some medication to help prevent it from returning. Lucy is due in October for her vaccinations and blood work. She has not lost or gained any weight and her coat continues to be very soft and plush.

Bella’s allergies have been the most under control they’ve ever been since her foster family has had her in their care. She’s still limping and the vet believes it may be an old injury that bothers her from time to time. She’s on Rimadyl and we will see if that helps.

Donna, DJ’s foster mom, told us that in the last month DJ has become even MORE affectionate and loyal to her. He also likes to zoom and do the Shiba 500 through the house. Sounds like DJ is a very very happy dog.

Ginger is doing well and had a great summer with her foster mom, Molly. She went on a trip to Ithaca NY and has been improving with the separation anxiety issues. She’s much better now about being left alone in the house and loves to hang out in Molly’s bedroom to nap.

Miyuki is a 3 yr old shiba inu who was found in Long Island and was in the local town shelter. She’s extremely friendly and gave our evaluator her belly and loved the attention! We believe she had a home given her overall sweet disposition.

Lucy has really come out of her shell in the past month. According to her foster mom, Michele, she’s become much more spunky and bold. Sketch’s foster mom, Michele, told us recently that the vet noticed a small heart murmur along with an ulcer under his right eye. Kato’s foster family gave us an update recently on how he’s doing. Kato has adjusted to the house completely and loves playing fetch, playing with the family, and sleeping on his dog bed. He is very friendly when meeting new people but sometimes shows some aggression when meeting dogs on a leash. [continue reading...]

Chopstix, also known as Choppy is wonderful! Her coat is thinner than most Shibas probably because of the Beagle mix. Her foster mom, Jenn, has been giving her Salmon oil and vitamins and her coat has improved — much softer and shinier and she is now shedding. Niko still shows some signs of having itchy skin, but it’s not increased. He’s on a diet of eating potato and duck and occasionally being a naughty pup and getting into the trash can to find “forbidden food.” He’s healthy overall and was very calm at the vet.

DJ is a sweetheart and his foster mom told us he’s very happy and likes to play in the yard and has a great time at the dog park. He likes to chew on nylabones and is calming down, not barking as much, and is friendly with other pets.

Mr. Squeakers is happy, healthy, and is showing more and more the playful side of himself. He’s also been protective of his foster mom who has been recovering from a surgery. Casper’s foster mom has a dog walker so he gets the exercise he needs when she’s not available. His dogwalker told us that he’s great and is the perfect dog. He’s been learning the down command and his dog walker has also been reinforcing it. She let us know that he picked it [continue reading...]

Ginger has lost a little weight, it may be due to the summer as dogs and cats don’t burn energy as much as they do during the winter. She also doesn’t eat as much food as she did before.

Kitsuni aka Bella has been spayed and healed up nicely. She’s shed most of her winter coat and has a nice summer coat and is doing well. Since the surgery she’s been a little more reserved and has taken to hanging out under the bed. She’s also quieter and more reserved around people. [continue reading...]

Casper aka Sketch loves to be outside and explore the world at large. He enjoys walks in the woods with his foster family where he can check out every leaf and twig along the way. When everyone is out on the deck, he is out with them watching the activities of the natural world.
