Kato is doing really well. There has been no change in his weight and his coat has improved.
Kato’s foster family report that Kato is fun, curious and sweet.

Lucy is doing very well. There has been no sign of her cancer returning. She continues to take some medication to help prevent it from returning. Lucy is due in October for her vaccinations and blood work. She has not lost or gained any weight and her coat continues to be very soft and plush.

Bella’s allergies have been the most under control they’ve ever been since her foster family has had her in their care. She’s still limping and the vet believes it may be an old injury that bothers her from time to time. She’s on Rimadyl and we will see if that helps.

Donna, DJ’s foster mom, told us that in the last month DJ has become even MORE affectionate and loyal to her. He also likes to zoom and do the Shiba 500 through the house. Sounds like DJ is a very very happy dog.

Ginger is doing well and had a great summer with her foster mom, Molly. She went on a trip to Ithaca NY and has been improving with the separation anxiety issues. She’s much better now about being left alone in the house and loves to hang out in Molly’s bedroom to nap.

Miyuki is a 3 yr old shiba inu who was found in Long Island and was in the local town shelter. She’s extremely friendly and gave our evaluator her belly and loved the attention! We believe she had a home given her overall sweet disposition.

Sketch’s foster mom, Michele, told us recently that the vet noticed a small heart murmur along with an ulcer under his right eye. Kato’s foster family gave us an update recently on how he’s doing. Kato has adjusted to the house completely and loves playing fetch, playing with the family, and sleeping on his dog bed. Chopstix, also known as Choppy is wonderful! Her coat is thinner than most Shibas probably because of the Beagle mix. Her foster mom, Jenn, has been giving her Salmon oil and vitamins and her coat has improved — much softer and shinier and she is now shedding. Niko still shows some signs of having itchy skin, but it’s not increased. He’s on a diet of eating potato and duck and occasionally being a naughty pup and getting into the trash can to find “forbidden food.” He’s healthy overall and was very calm at the vet.

Kitsuni aka Bella has been spayed and healed up nicely. She’s shed most of her winter coat and has a nice summer coat and is doing well. Casper aka Sketch loves to be outside and explore the world at large. He enjoys walks in the woods with his foster family where he can check out every leaf and twig along the way. When everyone is out on the deck, he is out with them watching the activities of the natural world.
