Tonight I transported Roxy from her dogsitting foster, Angela, back to her foster mom Phoebe who’s back from vacation. I just could not help but snap some shots of Roxy being so cute and well behaved- Enjoy!

In a foster home with a 12 year old female Chihuahua and a 4 year old male Min Pin, Roxy has settled in quite nicely! In fact, Foster mom Phoebe reported to us one morning that “She and the Min Pin were actually sleeping together on the same bed with me this morning =).” We were so pleased! Roxy lets her foster mom put her in her crate without incident. She’s a very cute and curious girl who is playful as well as affectionate. She’s a big mush and loves people.

Roxy just visited our vet for her vet check and did great - she’s ready for a forever home!

**Update** Roxy would be happiest in a home with no other dogs or with a very docile dog.

Roxy recently arrived at a no kill shelter in NJ as a stray. We normally only work with shelters where dogs are in immediate danger, but the Operations Supervisor at this shelter was concerned because Roxy was becoming quite anxious in the kennels. She contacted Shiba rescue about finding a foster or permanent home for Roxy.

She was both microchipped and spayed prior to arriving in the shelter. The microchip was registered to a pet store that has since been closed, but the microchipping company was at least able to tell the shelter that Roxy is 6 years old. Her temperament evaluation at the shelter showed she is both cat and dog friendly, prefers the company of male dogs more than females, no aggression issues were noted. They did note that Roxy doesn’t tolerate being restrained well, and therefore bypassed that during her evaluation. No signs of food aggression and takes treats very well.

Terra went and picked up Roxy from the shelter yesterday and took her to foster care. So far things are going well and we’ll post more information for you soon!
