11/20 Popeye Update

Popeye’s fosters report that he’s a ‘happy, energetic, playful but sometimes shy’ boy. He ‘loves walking, cuddling, new visitors and being outside’. Being a cuddly Shiba, he enjoys rubs and scratches on the chin and neck rather than head pats. He’s great with children, and protective of his humans. He knows several commands including Sit, Stay, Come, Heel and Wait.

Popeye would indeed do best as an only dog in a home where he can give and get lots of affection!

Introducing Popeye

Popeye was surrendered by his owners because their new baby is allergic. He is 4 years old and is wonderful with small children. Popeye shows no signs of aggression even around food or toys. Popeye is neutered, up to date with all of his shots, and is in overall good health. He was an only pet, so can become nervous around other dogs.

I had Popeye stay with me and my three dogs for a weekend to see first hand how he would react with other dogs. He was a little nervous, aloof, and growled every so often, but showed no signs of aggression. Because other dogs can make him nervous, Popeye would be best in a home with a mature dog or a home with no other pets.
