Bean is a wonderful, healthy little girl doing very well in her foster home. She is very affectionate and curious.

Bean is somewhat mischievous, always looking for food, but fairly well behaved. She listens to instructions. She is neither toy nor food aggressive. Bean does not need to be crated, and there haven’t been any accidents. She sits if told in a firm voice and walks well on a leash, but can pull at times.

Bean is still unfriendly with other dogs. She occasionally doesn’t like women, but several of the women have been around other dogs first, so it’s hard to tell if it’s the smell of another dog, or the women.

Bean enjoys walking for a while, but no adverse effects when she doesn’t get long walks. She’s a very sweet dog that will make someone very happy. She loves attention and being outside and she’s always excited to see you. However, she can’t be around other dogs (perhaps after introductions, but not recommended) or small children/infants.

Bean is a sweet and very affectionate dog. She loves to be around people and is nice to everyone she meets. She’s always excited when you come home and doesn’t bark or wine in the mornings or beg incessantly at the dinner table. She is happy just curled up on the couch or sitting on the windowsill staring out.

Bean is very smart and loves to hunt rats and sometimes will try to eat at insects that fly around her. She can pretty much find her way into any bag if there’s something interesting for her, and has been known to open zippers and Velcro. She walks great on a leash and knows to stop and go at crossroads. She also loves to run with you although her foster dad hasn’t taken her longer than a few blocks.

Bean doesn’t seem to like other dogs at all. If not properly and calmly introduced, she will growl or snap at another dog. Dog runs are pretty much off limits, since she will inevitably get into trouble. She much prefers grass to concrete when going for walks, so easy access to a park or a back yard would probably be much preferred.

Bean is a 4 1/2 yr old tri-color, spayed, female shiba. She needs a new home because she doesn’t get along with small children very well, but is a loving, playful, and calm dog overall. It seems she’s confused by the body language of children and becomes defensive. However, she gets along very well with adults!

She also doesn’t mind being groomed and doesn’t put up too much of a fight at bath-time. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. She also knows commands such as sit, down, come, and no. Overall Bean is a loving, cute little dog.
